Community Update No. 9

Dear Perkins-sur-le-Lac neighbours,

We have lots of information to share but will try to keep this short!

1) We are holding our second hybrid (in person and on Zoom) information/pledge event on Saturday, March 11, this time with a focus on Area B which is at the northeast end of Lac Bataille, and the northwest side of Lac Maskinongé (please see the map in this Prospectus). It will include: • A brief presentation on our goals and the vision for the specific land purchase • Discussion on Area B • Q&A session … and most important, friendly conversation with neighbours! Refreshments will be served at 2:30 p.m. for those joining in person, and the Zoom portion will start at 3:30 p.m.

2) We met with the Nature Conservancy of Canada again on Monday, February 13th and they shared an information brochure summarizing their findings on the conversation potential of our area. They also provided important information about how to collect information on species at risk, and raise funds for conversation projects like ours. More to come on this at a later date but do please keep collecting information about local species, especially ones with status. There was information about this in Update #8.

3) We held our first Annual General Meeting on January 23rd and are very happy to welcome Elke Reissing to the Board of Directors, bringing our total number of Board members to 12 (the maximum allowed according to our Bylaws). Elke has property west of Lac des Épinettes and has a deep interest in conservation and environmental issues. Please join us in welcoming Elke. To learn more, you can consult the draft minutes.

4) Finally, we have had some issues with donations via Paypal (now resolved). If you donated or became a member using PayPal, please get in touch so that we can ensure you received the appropriate tax receipt. And remember, the DONATE button on our web site is now live.
