Community Update No. 6

Dear Perkins-sur-le-Lac neighbours, 

We would like to inform you of a few very important developments in relation to our efforts to create a conservation area in the Perkins-sur-le-Lac region.

First, we have acquired Lauzon's plans for development in our area (6 maps) which received municipal approval at the "avant-projet" stage last summer, and we have been given permission to share them. If you would like to receive access to these maps, please write to us at: conservation.perkins.sur.le.lac@gmail.com and specify which map you would like to receive by referring to the letter of the area you are interested in indicated on the map below.

When you send your request, we would appreciate if you could tell us what lake you are on, and what your specific interest in our initiative is. For example:

• Conservation

• Reducing development

• Having an area for recreational use

• Leading or contributing to fundraising efforts to protect a specific area (please specify)

Second, Institut des territoires (IDT), the environmental consulting company we have engaged, has expressed a willingness to serve as our Land Trust and charity until we are able to establish our own. We are currently exploring the pros and cons of this option, but this is a very significant development as working with IDT means that we could potentially start fundraising efforts as early as this spring.

Finally, Nature Conservancy of Canada is interested in doing a site visit in our area in the early spring. This could be very important in terms of making a case for conservation and for fundraising in the future.
